Hester Geiger

Hester Elizabeth Geiger, age 89 of Butterfield, MN peacefully passed away on June 14, 2005 at the St. James Health Services Hospital. Family Graveside Services will be held on July 2nd, 2005 at the Butterfield City Cemetery. Hester was born on July 22, 1915 in Mahomet, IL the daughter of Stanley and Florence (Mahin) Patient. As a young girl, her family moved to a farm near Godahl, MN. She then moved back to Illinois where she met and married Donald Gordon. The couple had four children. She was united in marriage to James Geiger on June 25, 1966 in Butterfield, MN. Hester worked many years at Butterfield Foods. She loved to travel and go camping with her husband James. During her retirement she spent her time lovingly making quilts and afghans for her many family members. Hester enjoyed reading, collecting stamps and spending quality loving time with her many grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her thoughtfulness and kindness to others. Survivors include her sons Norman Gordon of Windom, Joseph (Lynette) Gordon of St. James, daughter Donna (George) Ronk of Tea, SD, daughter-in-law Dorothy Gordon of Apache Junction, AZ, and sister Alice Sonnabend of Falmouth, MA. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, son Bill and 6 brothers and sisters.
