Herbert Ramsay

Herbert A. Ramsay, age 90, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on October 22, 2015 at the New Ulm Medical Center. Herbert was born September 28, 1925 in Bedford, IA. He was the son of Herbert and Julia (Nemecek) Ramsay. He moved to Pocahontas County at the age of 2. He attended country school in Garfield Township and graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1943. He worked for his uncle Charles and Louis Nemecek on their farm and later farmed for himself and worked for Grant Lumber Company. After his marriage to Lorna Schoon they lived in Fort Dodge, IA, where he worked for JCPenny Company. In 1969, they moved to Sleepy Eye, MN where he worked for Pietrus Foods until he retired as President of that company. He enjoyed the outdoors, watching westerns and sports and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Lorna of Sleepy Eye, daughter, Linda (Pat) Tauer of Sleepy Eye, sons, Bob of Montgomery, MN and Ron of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Jamie (Chris) Fahey, Jason Tauer, Kelly (Kyle) Harvey, Heidi Ramsay, Isabella Ramsay; great-grandchildren, Kelsie Domeier, Robert and James Harvey, Landen and Logan Fahey.
