Henry Weiss

Henry W. A. Weiss was born December 31, 1909, the son of Carl and Emma (Rosenau) Weiss in Estilline, SD. He grew up in Badger, SD and attended country school near Badger. Henry farmed near Badger until 1931. He worked for different farmers inNorth Dakota and Minnesota and came to Minnesota in 1933. He met his wife to be Erna M. Wille and on June 30, 1936 they married. The coupled farmed in Waterbury Township, Redwood Co until 1971 when they moved to Springfield. Henry was a member of St.Matthew Lutheran Church of Wabasso and currently a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Springfield. Henry attended church regularly until entering St. John Lutheran Home in Aug. of 2004. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, andplaying cards. Henry Weiss died on Friday, October 8, 2004 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 94 years. He is survived by his wife - Erna of 68 years; son - Gary and wife Ruth Weiss of Lamberton; 3 granddaughters - Kim and husband Jeff Wood of Bismarck, SD, Darcy and husband Sharyar Darouie of Savage, MN, and Angie Weiss of Brainerd, MN; a grandson -Bryce Weiss of Spicer, MN; 5 great granddaughters; 2 great grandsons; a sister - Frieda Wilaby of Brookings, SD; a brother-in-law - Stanley Falconer of SD; a sister-in-law - Luthera Arnone of Albuon, WA; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded indeath by his parents; a sister - Arlene Falconer; and brothers - Edward, Art, and Robert.
