Henry Motes

Henry was born October 25, 1916 in Plant City, Flordia to Edward and Laura (Meadows) Motes. He grew up in Plant City and graduated from Orlando High School. Before entering the Miliary he worked for the Department of Agriculture in Washington. He enlisted into the Army in 1941 and served until honorable discharge in 1945. Prior to retirement he worked at Dupont. Henry was active in American Legion - Holtz - Geers,bowling league, and St. Mary's Church. He loved to travel visiting his children and grandchildren frequently and to plant flowers and vegetables in his garden. He also participated in golf leagues and tournaments. He is survived by his daughter Janice (Tom) McLaughlin, grandchildren JenniferWare, Christine Crow, Patrick (Tammy) McLaughlin, Theodore McLaughlin and Jonathon McLaughlin, great grandchildren Bridget Ware, William Ware, Naomi Crow, Jacob and Connor McLaughlin. Henry was preceded in death by his wife Catherine, brothers E.C Motes and Theodore Motes, Sisters Thelma Starbird and Christine Jourdant, grandson Adam Gould and niece Christine Weidemeyer.
