Henry Robert Curry was born January 7, 1930 at Butterfield to parents Frank and Gladys Curry. Hank grew up in St. James where he attended school. On June 1, 1950, he was united in marriage to Naida Burk at the Assembly of God Church in St. James. Hank worked hauling grain and at Tony Downs before he and Naida purchased the garbage business in 1960. The couple continued to own and operate Curry Sanitation for the next 46 years. Henry enjoyed spending time with his friends from the Band Box, his card buddies and his fishing buddies. Hank and Naida also enjoyed traveling and spending time with their grandkids. In his retirement fishing became one of his favorite activities. Hank enjoyed sharing his humor whenever possible. Henry was preceded in death by his wife, parents and brother Rondal. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Cynthia (Michael) Marshall of Winnebago, IL, Allan (Rita) Curry of Redwood Falls, Robert (Nancy) Curry of St. James, Phyllis Curry of Lansing, MI, special friends Karen (Glenn) Trickel of St. James, 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, brother Arden (Frances) Curry of Biwabik, MN, sisters Iola Nelson of St. James, Bonnie (L. Austin) Shelton of Laguna Woods, CA, Karan (Harvey) Blackstad of Montevideo, a sister-in-law Ethel Curry of St. Petersburg, FL, several aunts, uncles, and many nieces and nephews. Henry Curry passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James at the age of 77.
