Henry Birkemeyer

Henry "Hank" Matt Birkemeyer was born December 24, 1930 to Matt and Anita (Christensen) Birkemeyer in Brookville Township, Redwood County. He grew up in Brookville and attended Brookville School District #49. Henry worked for farmers all his life including Alvin and Bernard Eischen (Eischen Brothers) for over 30 years until retirement. On September 10, 1952, he was united in marriage to Lois Kosel at the St. John Lutheran Church in Springfield. Henry was a member of the St. Matthew's Church in Evan. He enjoyed farming, working with cattle, fishing, playing cards, and seeing his grandkids and family. He always had a story or a joke to share for anyone and once you met him, you would not forget him. He always remembered those he created stories and memories with. Henry also enjoyed his coffee, and with a little extra lunch was ok too! He is survived by his wife Lois of 63 years; children - Donald of Shakopee, Linda of Las Vegas; Jim (Bernadette) of Ada; grandchildren - Bianca Bautista of Las Vegas, Dorianne Bautista of Boston, Benjamin Birkemeyer of Bismarck, Jacob, Lauren, and Elizabeth Birkemeyer all of Ada. Henry was preceded in death by his parents; siblings - Agnes Mielke, Mary Ann Koski, and William "Bill" Birkemeyer; uncles - Claremont, Clarence, Richard and Earl; and aunt Henrietta Lee.
