There will be a Christian Mothers rosary at 4:30pm and a parish prayer service at 6:30pm, both Thursday at the funeral home. Helen Katherine was born on December 7, 1923 in Springfield, MN the daughter of John Bertha (Sellner) Hillesheim. She grew up and attended country school in Mulligan Township. Helen married Sylvester Helget on October 6, 1941 at the Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth. The couple lived and farmed in Mulligan Township until 1981 when they moved to Sleepy Eye. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the CCW, Christian Mothers and the Divine Providence Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, embroidering, gardening, traveling, bingo, fishing and especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Darlene (Melvin) Braulick, Jr. of New Ulm, Richard (Diane) Helget of Comfrey, Gary Bumps Helget of Sleepy Eye and Doris (Tom) Scheibel of New Ulm, 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, sister, Florence Seidl of Fairbault, sister-in-law, Rosella Hillesheim of Sleepy Eye, brothers-in-law, Delmar (Agnes) Helget of Sleepy Eye and Victor (Valeria) Helget of New Ulm. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Edmund and James, sisters, Agnes Treml and Marie Mathiowetz.
