Heidi Craig

Heidi Lynn Brekken was born on March 1, 1979 to Keith and Cindy (Wiken) Brekken. She was baptized on Easter Sunday April 15, 1979 and confirmed on April 25, 1993 at Albion Lutheran Church. She went to her Heavenly home at the dawn's early light on Sunday, April 12, 2009 surrounded by family. She was joined in marriage to Jon Craig on October 30, 1999. They were blessed with two precious Gift's from God - their two adorable, lovely children - Sara (8) Barbara (4). Though Heidi's time was short with them she loved them dearly. Heidi's joy's during her earthly life included fishing, watching birds, baking, collecting cookbooks, riding motorcycle, flowers, shopping, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, Sudoku, crocheting and eating grandpa's special cheese. MOST importantly though was family: being a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister granddaughter. Heidi worked at Pizza Hut, LaSalle Meats and then 1st National Bank until she was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia in July of 2006. These past couple years have been one long roller coaster ride. She fought a long hard courageous battle. Jeremy, I know, I had a hard time saying thank you, but thank you very much for donating the blood stem cells. Travis, dad, mom, Jon, Sue, Don, Amy and grandparents,Chris Chatrina thank you for everything also And to all the others that helped out thank you. Love Heidi Heidi is survived by her husband Jon and two daughters Sara and Barbara of St. James, parents Keith Cindy Brekken of St. James, father-in-law mother-in-law Don Sue Craig of St. James, 2 brothers Jeremy (Ashley) Brekken of Hanska, Travis (Kelli) Brekken of St. James, grandparents Don Irene Wiken of Hanska, Mae Brekken of St. James, Florence Rankin of St. James, sister-in-laws Amy (Keith) Pankratz of Butterfield, Jennie (Tony) Schmidt of IL, brother-in-law Scot (Rita) Craig of Germany, nieces Alexis, Heather, Elisabeth, Taylor, nephew Jorgen, Blake, aunts Chris (Mike ) Nordby of Odin, Kathy (Ken) Hanson of St. James, and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by grandfathers Adolph Brekken and Dallas Rankin.
