Hazel Christianson

April 18, 1913 — August 10, 2007

Hazel Edith Christianson was born April 18, 1913 in Selma Township, Brown County, the daughter of Walter and Elsie (Landon) Hudson. She attended and graduated from Comfrey Schools. Hazel attended college in Mankato after high school graduation. She was a confirmed member of the Congregational Church of Comfrey. On September 25, 1938 she married Herman Christianson in Wayzata, MN. They farmed the Hudson family farm near Comfrey until moving to Springfield in 1946. They built their own home in Springfield in which Hazel resided until one month ago. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Rebecca circle. Hazel worked at the hatchery, theater, greenhouse and hospital. She also baby sat for many children. She loved knitting, crocheting, playing upwords and SkipBo and visiting. She was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins. Hazel died on Friday, August 10, 2007 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 94. She is survived by her children - Chris and wife Dee Christianson of Hollandale, MN, Susan and husband Steve Hendrickson of Middlebury, IN, Elsie and James Groebner of Springfield; 7 grandchildren - John (Pam) Hendrickson, Molly (Matthew) Kuzinski, Jacob Christianson, Kim (Travis) Gluth, Krystal, Emily and Megan Groebner; 5 great grandchildren - Cheyenne and Andrew Hendrickson, Devon Kuzinski, Parker Gluth and Jordyn Groebner and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Herman in 1991; brothers - Clifford and Milo; sisters - Bessie Cullen, Sara Senesac and Frances Galbraith.
