Harriet Katherine Lee

Harriet Katherine Lee was born on September 27, 1923 at home in Sanborn, ND to Frank and Ethel (Alden) Hinschberger. She grew up and graduated from high school in Sanborn. Harriet worked at the post office with her mother. She married Duane Arland Lee on November 4, 1947 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sanborn, ND. They made their home in Buffalo, ND and moved to Hancock, MN and later to Sleepy Eye in 1957 where they have resided since. Harriet was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she helped with various projects including church cleaning and working at Nex-Tu-Nu. She was a member of the Christian Mothers, St. Rita's Study Club and Sleepy Eye Golf Club. She enjoyed canning, gardening, golfing, reading and spending time with family and friends. Harriet and Duane shared a great love of cardinals and humming birds. Harriet also enjoyed listening to the MN Twins with her roommate Evie at Divine. Harriet is survived by her children, Connie (Jim) Tretter of Baxter, MN, Mark (Cathy) Lee of St. Paul, MN, Jeff (Kate Knobloch) Lee of Nashville, TN, Denice (Gary) James of River Falls, WI, Mary (Steve Lyons) Lee of Duluth, MN, Cathy (Bryan) Christle of Fort Myers, FL, Corinne (Randy) Losleben of Litchfield, MN, Stacie (John) Falvey of Lake City, MN, 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, sister, Arlene Peterson of Middleton, WI, sister-in-law, Marion Boswell of Elliot City, MD and brother-in-law, Ordean "Ted" Lee of Fargo, ND, nieces and nephews and also by her special friends at Divine. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Duane in 1995, granddaughter, Aris Christle, brothers, Clyde and Gordon and sisters, Vivian, Marjorie, Hazel and Ruth.
