Harold Wolle, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Society in St. James. Harold John Wolle, Sr. was born December 8, 1925, on the family farm in Fieldon Township, the son of Carl and Augusta (Mutsch) Wolle. Harold lived on the family farm until moving into St. James in 2008. He married Marian Zoeller on June 18, 1950 and together they raised their family of five children. Harold and Marian enjoyed many winters at their Largo, Florida home and summers at their Gull Lake cabin near Brainerd. Harold farmed outside Lewisville and was later joined by his son Harold John Wolle, Jr and then by his grandson Matthew John Wolle on their 1883 Century farm. Harold served in the Army during WWII from 1943-1945. In the 1970s and 1980s Harold enjoyed selling cars for dealerships in Fairmont and Truman. He and Marian loved playing duplicate bridge together and together earned their Bronze Life Masters together. They also enjoyed golf, traveling together, particularly enjoyed their trip to Europe and South Africa, and took their children to all 48 continental states. Harolds greatest joy in life was his wife Marian, married together 63 years, their 5 children, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, all the in-laws and other family. He loved spending time with each and every one of them. He also considered special friends as family, Jack and Nora, Jack and Tuni, who reside in Florida. Survivors include his children; Susan & Steve Shankland of Charles City, IA, Harold John Jr. & Jane Wolle of Madelia, Barb & Elger Lorenzsonn of Stillwater, Linda Rasmussen of Bemidji, Nancy & Tom Balfanz of St. Cloud, 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
