Harold Klassen

January 26, 1924 — January 21, 2015

Harold A. Klassen was born on January 26, 1924 to Abram and Elizabeth (Janzen) Klassen in Mountain Lake, MN. Harold joined his loving wife Ann, daughter Inez, and grandson Levi in heaven on January 21, 2015. He lived his life leaning on the verse from Nehemiah where it said, "The Joy of the Lord is my strength" and the joy of his life will be celebrated on his 91st birthday. Harold grew up on his parents farm south of Mountain Lake and attended country school and later graduated from Mountain Lake High School. After high school Harold began farming the family farm and he would live there his entire life. On September 7, 1947 Harold married Anna (Ann) Fast at Bethel Mennonite Church. Harold and Ann enjoyed over 66 years of marriage. Ann passed away on January 3, 2014. Harold was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church. Harold had a passion for agriculture and farming that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He was a lifelong active member of Farm Bureau. Harold retired from farming in 1989 but kept his Hereford stock cows which he continued to care for until the age of 90. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who lived each day by faith. His faith was his family's foundation. Harold Klassen is survived by his children: Orvil (Karen) Klassen of Windom, MN, Myra (Craig) Stoesz of Mound, MN, and Pauline (Keith) Buresch of Lakefield, MN. A brother Loyal (Bertha) Klassen of Mountain Lake, MN. 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and special in-laws. He was proceeded in death by his wife Ann, a daughter Inez Klassen, a grandson Levi Buresch, and brothers Frank, Louis, Donald, and an infant brother Albert.
