Harold Hamblin

Harold Lee Hamblin, 85, of Saint James, passed away on November 26, 2025.

A private burial will be held at the Butterfield Mennonite Cemetery in Butterfield. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James. Online Condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Harold was born on November 7, 1940, to Karl and Jenny Hamblin. On March 10, 1961, he married Violet Marie Olfert. Harold worked for various farmers until 1968 when he began working for the GTA elevator. They sold the elevator to Watonwan Farm Service where he worked until 2005, when he retired. He then helped his neighbor, Gary Dannhoff with harvest until 2021. In his free time, Harold enjoyed working outdoors, doing puzzles and helping at church.

Harold is survived by his wife, Violet; sons, Elvis (Paula), Russ (Kristy), Ben (Elise) and Jon; grandsons, Daniel and Lance; granddaughter, Gwen; step grandsons, Matthew, Patrick, Benjamin and William; three step great grandchildren; brothers, Francis, Darrell, Bill and Ron; sisters, Ruth Matthews and Josie (Jerome) Kalis; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Jenny Hamblin; brothers, Virgil, Raymond, Carroll and Gale; sisters, Viola Wurzberger and Donnis Beneke; five brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law.
