Harland Frank Ludwig Krumheuer was born on October 9, 1933 to Harold and Mathilda (Fortman) Krumheuer at Long Prairie, MN. He received his education in country school, and he graduated as Valedictorian from Long Prairie High School. He continued his education at the University of Minnesota and also at the Minnesota School of Business. Harland served in the United States Army at Ft. Sill, OK and later in Germany from 1956 - 1958. On November 26, 1960, Harland was united in marriage to Judie Ann Stoesz at the Bethel Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, MN. They made their home in Minneapolis until moving to the Darfur, MN area in 1971. Harland held various accounting jobs including the State Bank of Darfur and his own tax office in Darfur from 1978 - 2007. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Darfur, where he was active and served as Treasurer for over 20 years. He was also active in Commercial Club (serving as Treasurer), the Senior Citizen Club, and the Darfur American Legion. He enjoyed fishing in his younger years, bowling, working with figures and helping farmers. Harland died on Friday evening, April 18, 2008 at his home in Darfur. Harland is survived by his wife, Judie Krumheuer of Darfur; two sons, Jason Krumheuer and special friend Nancy Elbert of Renville, MN, and John Krumheuer and special friend Nikkolette Korus of Minneapolis; a daughter, Laura Patterson and her husband Tom of New Ulm, MN; a brother, Marvin Krumheuer and his wife Mary of Dilworth, MN; a sister, Marlene Clausen and her husband Richard of Osage, IA, a half sister, Judy Krumheuer of St. Paul, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Helen Stowers and two in infancy; and a half sister, Terri Krumheuer.
