H. Albert Wellnitz, age 94, of Sleepy Eye, MN passed away peacefully at the Sleepy Eye Care Center on Monday, May 30, 2011, with his wife Erna by his side. Albert, born in Sleepy Eye, MN on February 16, 1917, grew up on his families Century Farm just north of Sleepy Eye. He spent his life working on the farm with his parents. On February 4, 1950, he married Erna Mammengae. Together they worked hard and nurtured the land into a prosperous farm. In 1970, they added chickens to the farm and were very successful in the selling of eggs to customers as big as Safeway. Albert spent his life loving Jesus with all his heart and making sure those around him knew the way to heaven. He was a quiet man and enjoyed time with family. He lived a long and healthy life; his family will miss him dearly. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Erna, four loving children, Linda Eischens, Steve (Debbie), Tammy (Keith) Allison, John (Sonya), grandchildren, Tammara (Marvin) Koppen, Timothy (Peggy) Eischens, Laura (Paul) Johnson, Mary Brookins, David Wellnitz, Michael Wellnitz, Tara (Scott) Agre, James Allison, Briar Huff and Kasey Huff, great-grandchildren, Joe Eischens, Tom, Ted, Terry Tracey Eischens, Cole, Emma Andrew Johnson, Hanna Jacob Brookins, Gwen Wellnitz, Cody Wellnitz, Eliza Eric Agre. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Lidia (Hager) Wellnitz, sisters, Florence Wendt, Orlin Tolsman, Gladys Nelson and brother, Burt.
