Greta Jensen

Greta was born on April 11, 1931 in Springfield, MN, the daughter of Otto and Margaret (Coulter) Bredvold. She was baptized and confirmed at Sundown Lutheran Church. Greta attended country school district #27 in Redwood County until 8th grade and then completed her schooling in Springfield in 1948. After attaining her associate's degree in teaching from Mankato Teacher's college, Greta taught in a rural school and Morton Public Schools for 5 years. On August 21, 1953, Greta was married to Warren Jensen. The couple farmed her parent's farm in Sundown Township, Redwood County where she lived all her life until moving into Springfield in 2003. Greta enjoyed traveling and music. She was a lifetime member of Sundown Lutheran Church where she served on the WELCA board, was the church organist, senior and junior choir director, and Sunday school Christmas program director for many years. She is survived by her children - Jodi (Del) Dalsgaard of Springfield, Paula (Jim) Mandeville of Columbus, MT, son - Steve (Samantha) Jensen of Avon, CT; grandchildren - Timothy and Peter Dalsgaard, Benjamin Mandeville, Ellen Mandeville (Steven's wife), Parker, Matthew, and Christopher Jensen; and many nieces and nephews. Greta was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2013; grandson Steven Mandeville; sisters - Judi (Ralph) Steiner and Bonnie (Gordon) Jensen; sister-in-law Alva (David) Arnsdorf.
