Grace Ted) Peters

September 9, 1926 — July 12, 2005

Grace Mae Duerksen, the daughter of Peter F. and Helena (Dick) Duerksen was born on September 9, 1926, at Mountain Lake, MN. She received her education at a country school near her home and the German Bible School in Mountain Lake. Grace was baptized upon confession of her faith and became a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church (now Community Bible Church) in Mountain Lake. Before marriage she worked at a children's home in Minneapolis. On March 24, 1950, Grace was united in marriage to Ted H. Peters at the Mennonite Brethren Church. They made their home near Delft, MN, where she worked as a housekeeper, first for a local family and then for over 18 years at the Sogge Good Samaritan Center in Windom, MN. In 1983, Grace and Ted moved into Windom. Grace was currently a member of the Carson Mennonite Brethren Church in Delft. She enjoyed flowers, collecting dolls, reading, cooking and entertaining, watching Christian programs, and listening to Bluegrass and Gospel music. Grace died on Tuesday evening, July 12, 2005, at Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Grace is survived by her husband, Ted H. Peters of Windom, MN; two daughters, Mary Jane Peters of Lakewood, CO and Roseann Peters of Windom, MN; a son, Rober and his wife Jocelyn Peters of Westbrook, MN; a sister, Esther and her husband Leonard Wiens of Butterfield, MN; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
