Grace Bachmann

Grace Bachmann, age 78, of Madelia, died on Friday, March 9, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System-St. James. Funeral services will be 10:30am, Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville with Rev. Brian Thorson officiating. Visitation will be Monday, March 12, 2012, from 5pm to 8pm at Sturm Funeral Home, Pilgrim Chapel in Madelia and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Lewisville. Grace Laura Culbertson was born April 1, 1933 in Matawan, MN, the daughter of Matt Laura (Miller) Culbertson. She was baptized on May 14, 1933 and later confirmed on March 30, 1947. She grew up in Lewisville graduating from Truman High School in 1951. On September 27, 1953, she was united in marriage to Larry Eugene Bachmann. Grace worked at the Lewisville Post Office, manufacturing plants, and owned a restaurant. She enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, karaoke and dancing. She is survived by her husband; Larry Bachmann, 4 children; Vickie (Elliot) Dewar, Kim Bachmann, Julie Bachmann and special friend Jerome Tetzloff, Sherry (Roger) Curtis, 8 grandchildren; Trina (Corey) Driscoll, Stacy (Cliff) Howell, Aaron Kubly and special friend Dusti, Dayton (Samantha) Bachmann, Emily (Jason) McClusky, Ashley (James) Sullivan, Abigail (Ryan) Badten, Brandon Kubly, 4 step-grandchildren; Donelle (Joe) Feldmann, Kara Curtis-Marlow, Dustin (Angelique) Curtis, Lana Curtis, 26 great-grandchildren, Sister; Lois (John) Teiken, brother; Howard (Cheryl) Culbertson, 2 sisters-in-law; Evie (Chuck) Voss, Betty (Lawrence) Peterson, brother-in-law; Roger Bosshart, numerous nieces, nephews and aunt; Hazel (Meldrin) Tolzman. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Robert Emmett, sister Eunice Bosshart, and grandson Nathan Kubly.
