Gordy Nelson

Gordy is the uncle of Donna Evens from Lamberton, MN. Gordy was born on March 23, 1915 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of John "Harold" and Clara (Peterson) Nelson. He graduated from high school in Minneapolis, MN. Gordy joined the CCC and later joined the Coast Guard serving during World War II delivering fuel to all ports. After his discharge, Gordy joined the Merchant Marines until retiring in 1975. He had homes in Big Lake, MN and Yuma AZ. Gordy entered Valley View Manor Care Center in 2002. He is survived by a sister-in-law - Marge Nelson of CA; and many nieces and nephews. Gordy is preceded in death by his parents; brothers - John Nelson and Donald Nelson and a special friend - Jan Mellit.
