Gordon Reinhart Panitzke was born November 6, 1935, in Redwood County, MN to Reinhart and Violet (Sorensen) Panitzke. He attended school in Redwood Falls and during his service in the US Air Force received his GED from Redwood Falls High School. From his first marriage he had two daughters, Donna and Gayla. On December 17, 1971, he was united in marriage to Mae Panitzke with whom he had a daughter, Terri. Gordy was self employed for many years in his business, Flash Signs and Silk Screening. He was a member of the Sanborn American Legion Post #286. He enjoyed restoring antique cars, attending car shows and swap meets, painting, reading, and traveling on cruises and weekend getaways. He is survived by his wife Mae (Stern) of Sanborn; daughters- Terri (Ben) Werner of Mankato, MN, Donna (Randy) Simmons of Laurel Hill, FL, and Gayla Murphy of Crestview, FL; brothers- Virgil of Aitkin, MN, and Jerry of Springfield, MN; sisters- Margie Wellner of Lamberton, MN, and Dorothy Reiner of Miltona, MN; his mother Violet Panitzke of Lamberton; sister-in-law- Judy Schultz of Walnut Grove; his uncle- Albert Panitzke of Morton; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Gordon was preceded in death by his father Reinhart and brother Ronnie. Gordon Panitzke died September 20, 2009, at his home in rural Sanborn, at the age of 73. Blessed be his memory.
