Gordon Ernest Kelly was born September 28, 1919 at Hector, MN, to parents Emil and Ida (Sandberg) Kelly. Gordon grew up in several SW Minnesota communities. He attended school in Madelia. He was baptized at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Butternut. In 1936, he moved to the home farm near St. James where he farmed and continued to live his entire life. Gordon was united in marriage to Hilma Anderson on March 27, 1960 in Madelia. Gordon served on the Board at the Rosendale Lutheran Church and Hosanna Free Lutheran Church in St. James. He loved farming and raising cattle. Gordon also bought and sold farm equipment and cars. When he wasn't farming he loved attending auctions and visiting with people. In later years he enjoyed and spendt many hours on the skid loader cleaning up and moving dirt on the farm. He is preceded in death by his parents, step-father Algot Nelson, brother and sisters and their spouses Marlowe Norma Kelly, Ilah Rolf Otto, Elsie Lloyd Turbes and Arlene Jacobson. Gordon is survived by his wife Hilma Kelly of St. James, sons Eugene (Sheryl) Kelly of St. James, Richard Kelly of St. James, brother Donald (Janice) Kelly of Madelia, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
