Gordon Cornish

Gordon "Corky" Claire Cornish was born on August 5, 1926 in Ceresco Township, Blue Earth County, MN the son of Sanford J. and Hazel (Nobles) Cornish. He attended Nobles Country School and later Garden City High School. Gordon married Jana L. Brekke on April 24, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia. Gordon was a life long farmer and he loved John Deere. He competed in state contour plowing contests, was a 4-H member, Ceresco Township Supervisor and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife Jana Cornish of North Mankato, children, Linda Cornish of Rockland, CA, Stephen (Elaine) Cornish of Madelia, Barbara (Marvin) Fleming of Garden City, Sarah (Greg) Magnuson of Mound and Ronald (Debbie) Cornish of Dixon, CA, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Marion Jorgensen, Marlyss Brekke, Helen Smith and Arlene Brekke. He was preceded in death by his grandson Craig Mountain, parents, brother, Robert (Rosella) Cornish, sisters, Mary (Gage) Putrah and Ruth (Anton) Fredericksen and brothers-in-law, Lloyd Smith, Einar Jorgensen and John Brekke.
