Gordon Samuel Bellig was born on November 11, 1944 to Samuel and Sylvia (Eyrich) Bellig in Redwood Falls, MN. He was baptized on February 18, 1945 in New Ulm and confirmed at Sharon Lutheran Church in Lamberton on May 17, 1959. Gordon graduated from Sanborn High School. He was raised on a 3rd generation farm north of Sanborn, which he farmed since a young age due to the early loss of his parents. On July 11, 1964, Gordon was united in marriage to Sandra Mumm at Faith Lutheran Church in Sanborn, MN. He enjoyed hunting including hunting trips to Canada, Arkansas, North Dakota, and Kansas, playing fast pitch softball, coaching junior high basketball, spending time with family during vacations at the lake, and trips to Hawaii, Europe, and Canadian Rockies. Gordon served on various church council positions and on the school board. Gordy passed away peacefully at his earthly home and is now relieved of all discomfort.
