Gloria Ann Sellner, 86, of Sleepy Eye died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on May 27, 2022. Gloria Ann Grossmann was born August 27, 1935 in Cottonwood Township, the daughter of Albert and Irene (Grathwohl) Grossmann of Searles. She graduated from New Ulm Public High School on May 21, 1954. Gloria and Hilarius (Larry) were married at St. Johns Catholic Church in Searles on September 4, 1956. They farmed together in Stark Township until they moved to Sleepy Eye in 2007. Gloria was a proud and caring mother, grandmother, homemaker, and farm wife. At a young age she got interested in cake decorating after getting a kit from the Minnesota State Fair. She used these skills to bake and decorate all of her childrens wedding cakes among numerous others. Her talents included sewing, baking, gardening, cooking, canning, crafting, and needlework. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, morel mushroom hunting, home extension meetings, road trips with family and friends, and her annual birthday trip to the Minnesota State Fair. Later in life she was active with the Sleepy Eye Senior Club where she served as president. She found great joy in her many jobs including babysitting, seasonal work at AUI, Dairy Queen, The Orchid Inn, and home health. Her greatest moments came in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending their activities. Gloria was the beloved wife of the late Larry Sellner; loving mother of Carol (Jeff) Wendt of Eden Prairie, MN, Shirley (Allen) Stavedahl of West Fargo, ND, Eileen (Bob Bertrand) Sellner of Redwood Falls, MN, Martin (Kristine) Sellner of Sleepy Eye, MN, and Tracy (Brian) Fitzgerald of Blaine, MN; adored grandmother of Kristine (Adam) Harth , Michael Wendt, Scott (Tricia) Stavedahl, Stacy (Kevin Strate) Stavedahl, Jessica Sellner, Andria (Kris) Roppe, Holly Sellner, and Madison, Tyler, and Reilly Fitzgerald; proud great-grandmother of Elizabeth Harth, Lennox and Reygan Roppe, and Kyra Strate. She is survived by her sister Diane Roschnafsky, sister-in-law Marcella Hager, brother-in-law Donald Loeck, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her parents-in-law, William and Cecilia (Mathiowetz) Sellner; sons, Ronald and Albert Sellner; brothers, George and Roger Grossmann; sister, Helen Loeck; brother-in-laws, Kevin Roschnafsky, Leo Scherer, Wendelin Sellner, Benjamin Sellner, and Ray Hager; sister-in-laws, Cecilia Scherer and Grace Sellner.
