Glenn Bittner

April 26, 1941 — August 3, 2006

Glenn Gordon Bittner was born April 26, 1941 in Redwood County, the son of Gordon and Agatha (Dallman) Bittner. He attended school in Wanda until the 8th grade. Glenn then attended and graduated from Lamberton High School in 1959. He farmed with his father from 1959 until he entered the US Army in 1963. Glenn was honorably discharged in 1965 and returned to farm with his father in Redwood County. Glenn worked for CNW Railroad from 1965 to 1967. In April of 1967 he started working at Southwest Experiment Station by Lamberton were he worked for 32 1/2 years. On May 20, 1967 he was united in marriage to Joyce E. Anderson at Sharon Lutheran Church in Lamberton. Glenn was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton and for the past 40 years he has been a member of Andrew Peterson American Legion Post #41 in Lamberton. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working, gardening, and cooking. Glenn Gordon Bittner died on Thursday, August 3, 2006 at his home in Lamberton at the age of 65 years. He is survived by his wife - Joyce Ellen Bittner of Lamberton; children - Wayne and his wife Jodi Bittner of Lamberton, Michael Bittner of Windom, Jess and his wife Leah Bittner of Lamberton, and Mindi and her husband Dan Hesse of Lamberton; grandchildren - Olivia Jaden Bittner, Garrett, Code, Alyssa Bittner, and Joshua Gavin Hesse; a special family friend - Britany Harazin; sisters - Joyce and husband Bob Graff of Lamberton, Bonnie and husband Fred Henkel of Lamberton, and Joan and husband Richard Coyle of Alexandria; sisters-in-law - Janet Caples and Sharon Maki; a brother-in-law - Roger and wife Barb Anderson; aunts, uncles, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; aunts, uncles, and a nephew - Michael Coyle.
