Glen Erickson was born April 18, 1932, in Roseau, MN to August and Aurora (Lindeen) Erickson. Glen was a graduate of Comfrey High School in 1950. He then served with the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955 during the Korean War. Glen was united in marriage to Mavis Hauptli on February 12, 1956, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield. He worked for Don Lindley Motors, the Standard Station, and Miesen Color Center before he and his wife Mavis became the owners and operators of Oak Grove Dairy for 30 years. He later worked for Barron Manufacturing and Teske Manufacturing. Glen served as the Civil Defense Director for the city of Springfield for 35 years and he and wife Mavis cleaned for multiple businesses around Springfield as well as helping Springfield Floral with deliveries. Glen enjoyed camping, dancing, country music, deer hunting, and wintering in Arizona for over 20 years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and John Watson American Legion Post #257 where he was Past-Commander. Glen Erickson died Friday, September 15, 2017, at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm at the age of 85. He is survived by children- Steven (Joan) Erickson of Marshall, Nancy (Gary) Renner of Springfield, Paul Erickson of Mankato, and Tom (Corinna) Erickson of Breckenridge; grandchildren- Chad Erickson, Corey Erickson, Lucas Ryan, Cassy Burton, Lacey Ryan, Emily Erickson, Dominic Erickson, Ana Erickson, and Andy Renner; great-grandchildren- Cole Erickson, Sullivan Ryan, Levi Burton, Finnegan Ryan, and Graham Erickson; and sisters-in-law Vi (John) Johnston and Alice Baumann. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mavis in June 2017; and a sibling in infancy.
