Glen E. Anderson, 81, Mt. Lake, formerly of Coleridge, Nebr., passed away with family at his side on March 17, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society, Mt. Lake. Memorial Service for Glen Anderson will be April 6, at 11 a.m., at Mt. Lake Alliance Church. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the service at the Alliance Church on April 6. Chaplain John Gardiner will be officiating the service.
Glen E. Anderson was born June 9, 1942, at his parents’ home east of Coleridge, Nebr. Glen grew up on the farm and was active in 4-H. He loved horses and enjoyed working with beef cattle. Glen attended Norris, a country school located east of Coleridge, through eighth grade and graduated from Coleridge High School in 1959.
Glen attended Wayne State College and later studied at Northeast Technical Community College, Norfolk, Nebr. In 1989 he started his own company, Anderson Appraisal and Reality. Glen did appraisal work for the Cedar County Farm Service Agency and for several counties across Nebraska.
Glen married Deanna Janssen, Coleridge. They enjoyed spending time together for over 60 years and raised five children, who Glen loved. He was very proud of all the accomplishments of his children. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Glen was blessed with a talent for music. He was the worship leader at his church in Nebraska for several years. He was soloist at a number of weddings and funerals. He was a man of faith and always ready to tell others about the goodness of God and the relationship they can have with Him.
Glen was presented a certificate of appreciation as an outstanding individual for his valuable contribution to the Cedar County Fair Association and received a certificate of appreciation for 25 years of valuable contribution given to the Nebraska Association of Fair Managers. Coleridge Christian Caring honored and presented a plaque to Glen for his unselfish faithful Christian Caring Service. He was a member of the Nebraska Ducks Unlimited group.
Survivors include his wife, Deanna Anderson; their five children, Kim Hammer, Louisville; Scott (Heidi) Anderson, Hooper; Angela (David) Toelle, Omaha; Brant (Amy) Anderson, Carter Lake, Iowa; Holly (Timothy) Penner, Mt. Lake, Minn.; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
