Gilbert Jensen

Gilbert L. Jensen was born on December 30, 1922 in Prairieville Township North of Sleepy Eye, MN, the son of Louis Lena (Stage) Jensen. He grew up in Prairieville Township where he attended country school. On November 12, 1947 he married Edith Manthey in Gaylord, MN. The couple made their home in Sleepy Eye since that time. Gilbert worked for Minnegasco for many years until his retirement. Gilbert was a charter member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in in Sleepy Eye where he served on the council, as an usher and as a delegate for the church convention. Survivors include his wife, Edith Jensen of Sleepy Eye, sister-in-laws Mayme Jensen of Wabasso, Ethel Frederickson of Minneapolis, Amy Lieder of Hutchinson, brother-in-law, Earl (Lavonne) Manthey of Bloomington, many nieces, nephews and dear friends in Minnesota and Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
