Gertrude Grace 'Frankie' Fick was born December 11, 1927, in Revere, MN the daughter of Julius and Gladys (Hannon) Frank. She graduated from the St. Mary's Nursing School in Rochester with an R.N. degree in 1948. Frankie was united in marriage to Lawrence Fick on September 27, 1949, in Walnut Grove. She served as the Revere Postmaster in the 1980's and 90's and was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton. Frankie enjoyed reading, especially mysteries by Agatha Christie and Rex Stout, crossword puzzles, and gardening. She had a keen curiosity exhibited by watching TV shows like How Things Work:, Myth Busters, and Jeopardy. Frankie loved picnics and appreciated her father's willingness to get in the car and drive her around to see different things. Gertrude 'Frankie' Fick died Monday, November 14, 2011, at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato at the age of 83 years. She is survived by children- Larry and wife Cindy Fick of Owatonna, Korrine Fick and husband Tony Berens of Hastings, and Denise Fick and husband Jeff Skjeveland of Revere; grandson Brett Fick of Omaha, NE; sisters- Helen (Vernon) Okins of Redwood Falls, and Roberta 'Cookie' (Vern) Klante of Lucan; and brother Julius (Elaine) Frank of Lamberton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence in 1997; grandson Andrew Fick; and brother Arthur and wife Lola Frank.
