Gerhardt Vogel

Gerhardt is the son John and Anna Vogel and was the fourth of four children. He was born in Brown Country, Stately Township on July 14, 1931 where he farmed most of his life. Gerhardt served several years on the board of Brown County Soil and Water Conservation before moving to CA in the late 80's. He had a long battle with cancer which he succumbed to July 9, 2021 in Springfield, MN. Gerhardt was very much a "people person" with a great sense of humor who loved spending time with family and friends. Some of his hobbies were playing cards, especially pinnacle and sheep head, singing karaoke, lawn bowling where he was a player, coach and groundskeeper, and anything working outdoors. He has four children - Gary (Kyoko) Vogel of Japan, Glen (Karen) Vogel of MN, Gail (Garry) Siekmann of VA, and Gina (significant other John Speak) Vogel of MO, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Gerhardt was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Raymond (Marianne), Delores (Joe) Kastner, and Mary Ann (Warren) Davis.
