Gerard Jensen

Gerard Michael Jensen was born on January 16, 1957 to Lloyd and Irene (Bast) Jensen. He was raised on the Jensen family farm and attended and graduated from Springfield High School in 1975. Gerard worked for Mathiowetz Construction for 40 years as a heavy machinery operator retiring in 2019. On November 1, 1980, Gerard was united in marriage to LeAnn Weisensel in Springfield. The couple raised three children - Bill, Heather, and Lindsey. Gerard loved playing cards, deer hunting, spending time with family and friends, and tinkering on the farm. He loved being the center of attention and telling jokes. His grandchildren brought him great joy and he loved to spend time with them. Gerard died on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at his home in rural Springfield, MN. He is survived by his wife LeAnn Jensen; son Bill (Chandra) Jensen; daughters - Heather Jensen (Dustin) and Lindsey (Andy) Krueger; and grandchildren - Brody, Carly, Otto, and Madalyn; his siblings and their families - Gail (Lowell) Heiderscheidt, Gary (Karen), Greg (Kathy), Grant (Lynette), and Glenn (Anita); mother-in-law Donna (Albert) Ebnet; and LeAnn's siblings and their families. Gerard was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law Garth and Rita Jensen; nephews - Joseph and Adam Jensen; father-in-law LeRoy Weisensel; and brother-in-law Duane Weisensel.
