Gerard Buse

Gerard "Gerry" Paul Buse, age 72, of Saint James, died on December 16, 2023 at Abbot Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sturm Funeral Home, Saint James Chapel and will continue on Saturday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at East Sveadahl Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held at East Sveadahl Lutheran Church, on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 11:00 am.

Gerry was born December 16, 1951 to Lloyd and Leona (Galles) Buse in Slayton, Minnesota. He graduated from Slayton High School in 1969.

Gerry was well known for his musical talents, horse-drawn trolley, beautiful craftsmanship, and impactful work with parents and youth. He was a dreambuilder who loved seeing others' joy and delight. Though his gifts were varied, he practiced them all with integrity, empathy, hard-work, accountability, and faith. These are values that he lived every day and instilled in his children and others.

Gerry is survived by his wife, Pat; son, Brent (Jennifer) Buse; daughters, Tara (Ryan) Johnson, Brittany (Tony Mattson) Buse, Kari (Danny) Meyer, Amy (Jon) Wakefield, Denise (Pat) Chung, and Sara (Mitch) Meyer; grandchildren, Mackenzie (Caleb), Matthew (Maria), Landen (Sara), Joshua, Anya, Samuel, Isaiah, Ryla, Riley, and Maya; siblings, Dale, Jim (Lorna), Virginia (Walt) Warren, Connie (Dar) Johnson, Carol Mondry, Joanne (Roger) Halbur, Mary Hill, and Marcia (Don) Arkell; sister-in-law, Norkio Buse; and many nieces and nephews.

Gerry was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Kenny (Margaretta), Shirley (Del) Roemer, Christie Buse, and Don.
