Georgia Fay McCall, age 83, of Madelia, Minnesota went to her eternal reward in heaven on May 19, 2012. A bundle of joy, Georgia was born April 22, 1929 to Carl and Mary (Sanger) Swanson, the youngest of seven children. After attending schools in Mankato, she graduated from Mankato High School in 1948 and went on to work in sales at Thomas' Drug Store, Queen Frocks and the Bee Hive in downtown Mankato. Later, on June 12, 1950, she married the love of her life Thomas McCall and lived on an acreage next to Tom's family farm in Mankato. She and Tom welcomed six children to their family in the course of a great life of fun, faith, and frivolity. Georgia became an excellent homemaker with hobbies of gardening, sewing, and embroidery as well as cooking, card playing, and music. Also, she shared her love of ice skating, puzzles, and crosswords with her children, giving her family countless hours of priceless enjoyment-especially during snowstorms. Overall, she lived a life of deep faith and love for God and a life of devotion to her husband and family. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Timothy (Lynn) McCall of Rochester, New York; Michelle (Mark) Nelson of Auburn, Washington; Mary McCall of Algona, Iowa; Denise (Michael) Minea of Woodbury, Minnesota; Kathy (Warren) Krenz of Madelia, Minnesota; and Patrick (Ann) McCall of Mankato, Minnesota. Also, surviving are one brother, D. Duane Swanson; three sisters-in-law, Ginny Swanson, Doris Swanson, and Dorothy Tresemer; eleven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
