Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday George Zeidler, age 97, of St. James, died on Thursday, December 2, 2010, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James. George Henry Zeidler was born November 4, 1913, to parents John and Mary (Westerman) Zeidler of rural St. James. George was a twin to John, they grew up on the family farm in Riverdale Township, Watonwan County, Minnesota. George attended rural school and helped on the family farm. On April 8, 1947, George was united in marriage to Josephine Riesenberg in St. James. The couple made their home on the family farm. George continue to farm until their retirement in 1983 when they moved into St. James. George was a member of St. James Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting in his early years and fishing and spear fishing. He and Josephine enjoyed travelling and George loved his Canadian fishing trips with his brother-in-law Al Cameron. George is survived by his children; Catherine (Keith) Thomas of Eagle Lake, Lawrence (Darlene) Zeidler of Eagle Lake, brother; Bernard (Elizabeth) Zeidler of St. James, sister; Bernadine Cameron of Irvine, CA, grandchildren; Laura (Scott) Thoms of Kasota, Sherry (Brett) Berry of Oakdale, Steven (Amy) Thomas of Janesville, great-grandchildren; Seth Berry, Kya Berry, Sierra Thoms, Jarret Thoms, Preston Thomas, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; Josephine, parents; John and Mary, brothers; John, Herbert and Clarence.
