A Rosary is scheduled at 4pm on Wednesday at the funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to St. James Catholic Church, American Cancer Society or Caring Bridge. Genevieve Ann Berger was born in New Ulm, Minnesota on April 18, 1928 the daughter of Louis Mary (Wagner) Berger. After high school Gen worked in New Ulm at The Piper Clinic, New Ulm Utilities and State Bond and Mortgage. On May 26, 1951, she was united in marriage to Donavon Anderson. Shortly after their marriage the couple moved to Alabama with the activation of his National Guard Unit. Returning to Minnesota after the service, they located in St. James to raise a family. With her background in bookkeeping, they worked together in various enterprises including DBL Construction, Anderson Furniture Carpet and the Sears Catalog Store. Genevieve was involved with Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters, Club 28, Extension Club and a long-term member of the Crescent Cafe Coffee Girls. She enjoyed Handiwork, Card Games, Jigsaw Puzzles, Bird Watching, AW Root Beer Floats, Ice Cream Berries along with Campfires with S'mores. She is survived by her husband Donavon of St. James, children Richard (Cyndy) Anderson of Dickson, TN, Mary Jo (Larry) Sandmeyer of St. James, Kathy (Ron) Yff of South Haven, Denise (Jeff) Poetter of Eagan, 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sisters Mary Munns of Vadnais Heights, Joanne (Ambrose) Christianson of Columbia Heights and was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bob Berger, and sisters Patricia Porcello and Lois Waibel.
