Gary attended Zion Lutheran School in Sanborn until his confirmation in 8th grade. He graduated from Sanborn High School in 1961, and attended Mankato State College where he was a member of the football team. Gary was united in marriage to Judith Meyer on April 17, 1965 at Sundown Lutheran Church. The couple resided briefly in Sanborn before moving to Springfield in 1967. Gary worked for the Farmers and Merchants Bank of Springfield for 22 years. The past 20 years he was an independent financial consultant in the areas of insurance and securities until the time of his death. In his younger days, Gary was very active playing amateur baseball for Mankato, Owatonna, and Springfield, as well as, fast-pitch softball for Lucan and Windom. He served as a member of the Minnesota National Guard, Springfield's City Treasurer, American Legion, School Board, and was a volunteer fireman for 22 years. Gary was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and especially golfing. If Gary wasn't at home, he could probably be found on the golf course. He served as a director of the Minnesota Golf Association (MGA) for 9 years. Another passion of his was playing cards, as he was a bridge club member for many years. Gary was currently a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Springfield Golf Club. Gary is survived by his wife, Judy, of Springfield - mother, Noreen Weedman of Sanborn - children, Jon (Nicole) Weedman of Jordan, Kelly (Brent) Weber of Sartell, Koree (Jim) Boyle of Morgan, Greg (Miranda) Weedman of Janesville, and Kim Weedman (fianc Stetson Shoen) of Springfield; 10 grandchildren - Michael and Nicklaus Weedman; Blake, Abby, Morgan, and Mallory Weber; Lauren and Luke Boyle; and Aubrey and Gavin Weedman. He is also survived by his brother, Dennis (Marilyn) Weedman of Sanborn, and his sister, Janice (Stuart) Juhnke of Sanborn. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Weedman, in 1991. Gary's wife, children, and grandchildren were the loves of his life; he never missed his kids' sporting events, and always looked forward to a visit from his grandkids. He will be deeply missed by all of them.
