Frieda "Jeanne" Hanson was born on September 30, 1934, to Henry and Frieda (Krueger) Feeken at the Springfield Hospital. She attended school in Comfrey and graduated with the class of 1952. In 1953, Jeanne ventured to Washington, DC to work as a file clerk for the FBI. She missed her family and decided to move back to Comfrey and worked at the Comfrey Bank. On June 17, 1956, Jeanne married Orville Hanson and they began their life on the Hanson farm where they raised two children - James and June. After the children where in high school, Jeanne took a job at the Comfrey Hospital where she worked until her retirement. In 1988, Orville and Jeanne moved into Comfrey to the home that his parents had built. Jeanne continued to live in Comfrey after Orville's death in 2006 until August of 2014 when she moved to the Maples in Springfield. In November she entered St. John Lutheran Home, with her life coming to full circle when she died in the same facility she was born. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Comfrey where she was the treasurer for many years, the American Legion Auxiliary in Comfrey, and was a current member of the United Methodist Church in Springfield. Jeanne enjoyed watching sports, gardening, farm life especially cleaning up the grove and the reward of a bonfire and hot dog roast. She was also a dedicated blood donor. Jeanne loved time spent with her family and she was very proud of each of them. She is survived by her children - James (Jeri) Hanson of Comfrey and June Hanson of Whitefish, MT; grandchildren and great grandchildren - Aaron (Jamie) Seifert and children Avery and Harper of Ankeny, IA, Adam (Marisa) Seifert and children Dylan, Olivia, and Claire of Comfrey, Jody (Brandon) Anderson of Elk Point, SD, Jaime Hanson of Comfrey; siblings - Henry Feeken of Iowa, Ronald Feeken and Cherry Taylor both of Comfrey; sisters-in-law - Pat Feeken of Arizona and Jean (Milo) Bednar of Plymouth, MN. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; husband Orville in 2006; brother Roy Feeken; sister Lucille Herrig; sisters-in-law Dorothy Feeken and Joyce Frank; brother-in-law Harold Herrig.
