Frederick Otto Trapp was born July 29, 1943 to Wilmar and Ethel (Weber) Trapp in Springfield, MN. Fred was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn. He attended school in Sanborn and graduated in 1961. In January of 1962, he enlisted in the Air Force and was honorably discharged in January of 1982. On July 31, 1965, Fred married Sharon Henry at the United Methodist Church in Sanborn. After serving in the Air Force, Fred and Sharon moved back to Sanborn and he worked for L and S construction until his retirement in 2010. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, golf, time with family, and living life to the fullest. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and American Legion of Sanborn. Fred died Monday, February 1, 2016 surrounded by his family and friends at Mayo Clinic Health System in Springfield. He is survived by his wife Sharon of Sanborn; sister Marion (Les) Vanderwerf of Springfield; brothers - Steven (Sandy) Trapp and Rae (Tamie) Trapp all of Sanborn; nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law - Leo and Evelyn Henry; sister-in-law Dona Lee Henry.
