Fred Coners Sr.

Fred Claus Coners Sr. was born on February 26, 1935 to Claus and Anna (Rohden) Coners in Mountain Lake, MN. He served in the Air Force from 1952-1956. On July 16, 1966, Fred was united in marriage to Virginia Jones in Sleepy Eye. The couple lived in Cobden until 1994 when they moved into Springfield. Fred was a self-employed contractor for many years. He was a member of the Springfield American Legion. Fred enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, watching movies, and spending time with his grandchildren. Fred died on Friday, March 3, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 82. He is survived by his children - Fred Coners Jr. of Springfield and Terry (Jennifer) Coners of Morton; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; and a sister.
