Florian Moldan

There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30pm Friday and the funeral home. Florian C. Moldan was born on July 20, 1927 in Mulligan Township, Brown County, MN the son of George J. Mary (Sellner) Moldan. He grew up and attended country school near Comfrey and later St. Mary's School in Sleepy Eye. On Oct. 4, 1955 he married Dorothy Marie Depuydt at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in St. Clair, MN. The couple lived and farmed in Stark Township in rural Sleepy Eye. Florian was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, the Catholic Aid Association, the American Legion Post # 7 and VFW Post #800 and the DAV. He enjoyed his family and spending time with his grandchildren and also farming, being a mechanic, fishing, hunting, playing cards, old-tyme music and collecting Oliver tractors. Survivors include; children - Mike F. and wife Carol Moldan of Sleepy Eye, LaVonne and husband Scott Hogen of New Ulm, Wanda and husband Bill Ubl of New Ulm, Charlie Moldan and special friend Vicky Weiss of Sleepy Eye, and Nettie and husband Brian Portner of Sioux Falls, SD; 11 grandchildren; brother - Joe wife Joan Dodie Moldan of Hanska; sisters-in-law - Mary Depuydt of North Mankato and Helen Depuydt of St. Clair, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife - Dorothy; son - Doug; sister - Mary Woratschka; brothers - Billy and Edwin; brothers-in-law - Valerian Woratschka and John, Gervase, Clem and Leonard Depuydt; sisters-in-law - Pyhllis Moldan and Lucille Depuydt.
