Florence Marsden

Florence Mildred Marsden was born March 30, 1915 at Madelia, MN to Harry and Mildred (Hamill) Rice. Florence was raised in Madelia and received her education there as well. Following her schooling she was married to Clifford William Marsden on July 22, 1932 at Madelia, MN. The couple made their home in Rural Madelia where they farmed with Florence's father. They later purchased a farm in Rosedale Township which they operated until retiring into St. James in the early 1980's. Florence was a member of First Presbyterian Church in St. James where she was active as Sunday School Superintendent, Presbyterian Women's Association and the Ladies Circle. She was also a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Florence enjoyed playing cards and having company to her house. Florence is survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Loren and Millie Marsden of St. James; sister-in-law, Hazel Marsden, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Douglas; and two sisters and their spouses.
