Fidelis Steinke

Fidelis Marie Steinke was born on August 27, 1931 in Vail Township, Redwood County, the daughter of Jacob and Alma (Huber) Seifert. She graduated from St. Anne's Catholic School in Wabasso, MN and attended Mankato College. She was united in marriage to Wilfred "Bill" Steinke on September 11, 1965 at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield, MN. Fidelis worked at the State Bank of Springfield for 37 years, Springfield City Clerk's Office for 2 years, and retired from Springfield Elementary School after 8 years. She was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church, where she participated in the Adult Choir, and the Springfield American Legion Auxiliary serving as a Past President. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and watching sports on T.V. Fidelis died on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, MN at the age of 86 years. She is survived by a sister-in-law - Delores Seifert of Minneota, MN and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill in 1986; a brother Harold; and a sister - Mary Ann (David) Steffl.
