Ferdina Schade

Ferdina Florence Schade was born January 24, 1919, on her parent's farm in Sundown Township, Redwood County to John and Lena (Kettner) Thompson. She was a lifetime resident of the Springfield area, moving into Springfield after her marriage to Jasper C. Schade on April 25, 1940. Ferdina enjoyed baby-sitting, gardening, playing cards, knitting, crocheting, raising flowers, and collecting plates. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Ferdina was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, and a former member of the Springfield Senior Citizens. She is survived by son Elton Schade of Elmwood, TN; daughter Connie and husband Jerry McClune of Waseca, MN; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Wanita Nelsen of Hood River, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jasper in 1978; brothers- Leonard, Alfred, Donald, Norbert and Peter; and a brother and sister in infancy.
