Evelyn Schaar

Evelyn Della Schaar was born August 25, 1912 near Lakefield, the daughter of Emil and Erna (Bauer) Kolander. She was baptized on September 15, 1912 and confirmed on March 28, 1926 at the Delafield Church in Lakefield, MN. She was united in marriage to Arnold (Pete) Schaar on April 4, 1931 at the Delafield Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lamberton where she participated with teaching Sunday School and Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Lamberton Reading Club. Evelyn enjoyed playing and teaching Bridge, loved to knit - making sure every family member had an afghan, spending many years at Lake Florida near Spicer, wintering in Arizona, and especially loved her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Evelyn died on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at the Valley View Manor Care Center in Lamberton at the age of 95 years. She is survived by 2 children - Gary and wife Barbara Schaar of Walnut Grove and Linda and husband Brian Kosel of Owatonna; a son-in-law - Paul Bouchard of Florida; 9 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren; a sister - Vernetta (Sue) Bulter of Lamberton; and friend Marvin Beaver of Missouri. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband - Arnold on August 31, 1986; a son - Merton Schaar; a daughter - Lorean (Schaar) Bouchard; a daughter-in-law - Mardelle Schaar; 5 sisters, and 2 brothers. Memorials are perfered to the Redwood Hospice, Parkinson Society, or the American Heart Association.
