Evelyn Evers

Evelyn Elizabeth Evers was born September 15, 1918 in Comfrey, MN to Oscar and Helga Wall. She was united in marriage to Martin Evers on June 4, 1935 on the Herman Evers farm place southwest of Comfrey. Evelyn was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey. She was active in the Ladies Aide, as a Sunday School teacher and helped with quilting projects for charities. She loved to entertain and have couples over to dinner followed by playing card games. Her hobbies were quilting, gardening, fishing and baking. Her favorite time of her life was spending 10 years at the cabin on Nordic Point on Pelican Lake near Glenwood, MN. In retirement, Martin and Evelyn enjoyed the cabin time the most. Evelyn loved to cook and many relatives, neighbors and friends enjoyed her fish fry's. Evelyn was a loving mother and devoted wife. She was helpful with Martin's farming and corn shelling business. She was a very generous person and her memory will be cherished. In her last years she enjoyed spending time with her 3 grandchildren. Evelyn died Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at the age of 92, fulfilling her wish of living her last days on the farm that Martin and her built in rural Comfrey. Evelyn is survived by her daughter - Marilyn and husband Don Peterson of Mankato, MN; 3 grandchildren - Carla, Ariel and Zoe; step-granddaughter - Sarah and husband Darrell and their children - Ethan, Isaiah and Paxton of Bismarck, ND; sister-in-laws - Emma Wall of Balaton, MN and Gertrude Wall of Glenwood, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband - Martin in 1994; brothers and sisters - Walter (Bertha) Wall, Irvin Wall, Arthur (Betty) Wall, Marvin (Lucille) Wall, Arnold (Clara) Wall, Harold Wall, Ada (Ole) Olson, Esther (Walter) Magnuson, Clara (John) Nagle.
