Evelyn Busse

Evelyn Amanda Busse was born January 3, 1916 in Highwater Township, the daughter of Ole and Annie (Halvorson) Blegen. She attended country school. She was baptized and confirmed at Sharon Lutheran Church in Lamberton, MN. On November 29, 1935 she was united in marriage to Melvin Busse at the Sharon Lutheran Church Parsonage in Lamberton, MN. The coupled lived on a dairy farm southwest of Sanborn. They moved into Sanborn in 1974 and to Valley View Apartments in November of 2002. Evelyn was a past secretary of the Ladies Aid at the Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn. She enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, loved to cook, day trips to Redwing and looking at the fall colors, and decorating for the Christmas holiday. Evelyn died on Sunday, August 19, 2007 at Valley View Manor Care Center in Lamberton, MN where she had been a resident since January of 2006 at the age of 92 years. She is survived by her husband - Melvin Busse of Lamberton; children - JoAnn (LeRoy) Lingbeck of Loveland, CO and Peggy (Jerry) Martius of Sanborn, MN; 4 grandchildren - Kevin (Cindy) Lingbeck and their son - Kyle, Kaye Jolly and sons - Chase and Hayden, Jennifer (Dan) Ebberhard and their son - Bowen, and Darren Martius and children - Tyler, Jordan, and Amy; sisters - Opal Neitzel of CA and Ollie (Warren) Parker of Revere, MN; and a brother - Euclair Buddy Blegen of Indianapolis, ID. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters - Iola Frank and Janice Blegen; a brother - Arvid Babe Blegen; a granddaughter - Kim Lingbeck; and a grandson - in - law - Bradley Heilman.
