Evelyn Helen (Peters) Buller, 86, of Mountain Lake, MN died on Tuesday, August 09, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake. Evelyn Helen Buller, daughter of Abraham D. and Katie (Faust) Peters was born on May 3, 1925 in Mountain Lake, MN. She attended Mountain Lake Public School and was a lifelong member of Bethel Mennonite Church. While still in school Evelyn worked as a maid. Later she worked for Epp Department Store in Mt. Lake. On May 31, 1946 Evelyn was united in marriage to the love of her life, John H. Buller. This year marked their 65th anniversary. After marriage, Evelyn and John farmed together until they moved to town in 1957. After moving to town Evelyn did some waitressing for John E. Stoesz, was a cook at Bonnie's Restaurant and volunteered at the Care Share. She also taught Sunday school and DVBS and was a member of Worship Sew. In her spare time Evelyn loved to cook, bake, sing, play cards, do jigsaw puzzles and word searches as well as watch her afternoon soaps. Evelyn died on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at the Mountain Lake Good Samaritan Village. She was an amazing wife, sister, mom, grandma, and aunt! Everyone will miss her wonderful cooking, (especially her zweibach and potato salad) her warm heart, beautiful smile and hugs. She is survived by her husband, John of Mt. Lake; son-in-law, Marvin Birr of Good Thunder, MN; grandchildren: Kara (Mike) FitzSimmons of Pemberton, MN, Darrin (Cassie) Birr of Minnesota Lake, MN, Lindsay Birr of Elgin, MN, Allison (Gary) Koch of Good Thunder, MN, and Ellen (Paul) Sombke of Good Thunder, MN; great-grandchildren: Zack Garlow, Bryan Garlow, Tyler Garlow, Logan FitzSimmons, Jackson Birr, Josh Sombke, and Sam Sombke; nieces and nephews: Galen Derksen of Windom, MN, Dana (Mary Jane) Derksen of Rushmore, MN, Sharon (Gary) Phelps of Burnsville, MN, Dineen Dohmen of Dundas, MN, and Jolene (Bob) Kump of Burnsville, MN; great nieces and nephews: Nikki (Brian) Shannon, Jay (Carissa) McDonald, Kinsey and Bailey Kump; and 5 great-great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Luella Derksen; brother, Leonard Peters; son, Leroy Buller; daughter, Patricia Birr; and niece, Eileen Derksen. She will always be loved and never forgotten.
