Eva Dallmann

October 9, 1924 — December 16, 2010

Eva Jeanette Yackel was born October 9, 1924, to John and Maude (Perry) Yackel. She grew up on the farm near Lamberton and graduated from Lamberton High School. Eva was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. She was the second oldest of 5 girls - Lavon, Cheryl, Ruth and Annette. She married Reuben Albert Dallmann on November 28, 1943, and they farmed the Dallmann family farm raising their 4 children - Jean (Ed) Fisher, Betty (Dave) Baumann, Bob Dallmann, and Ron (Phyliss) Dallmann. Eva spent many years baking and decorating cakes and later started selling Avon as well as starting a ceramic business. Eva and Reuben enjoyed square-dancing and spending time with family and friends. In 1978, the couple decided to move to a northern location where they spent 25 years on a small hobby farm near Verndale, MN. Eva continued with Avon and also moved her ceramic business with her. In December of 2002, she suffered a stroke and required one-to-one care so the couple returned to Lamberton where family helped with caring for her. In July of 2010 it became necessary for the couple to make one last move to Valley View Manor. Eva lost her lifelong partner Reuben on October 29, 2010, leaving her very lonely and heartbroken. She declined rapidly and went to meet her heavenly Father December 16, 2010. She will be missed much. Bless her as she meets her heavenly Father. Eva is survived by her children- Jean (Ed) Fisher of Smithville, MO, Betty (Dave) Baumann of Lamberton, Bob Dallmann of Staples, Ron (Phyliss) Dallmann of Becida, MN, and Richard (Sharon) Yackel of New York; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters- Cheryl Essig, Ruth Merringer, and Annette (Loren) Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Reuben; great-grandson Aaron Baumann; sister Lavon Bloedow Engeswick; sisters-in-law- Lydia Hansen, Agatha Bittner, and Gertrude Storch; nephews- Bill Essig and Glen Bittner; and nieces- Janice Mackenberg and Jan Ruppentrapp.
