Eugene Gene Dennis Wollschlager was born on December 10, 1950 in Millbanks, SD the son of Vincent and Patricia (Vanhout) Wollschlager. He grew up and attended school in Big Stone City, SD. After Gene completed his schooling he worked on the family farm. He moved to Butterfield, MN in September of 1980 where he worked for Butterfield Foods. He later moved to St. James, but continued to work until the present time in Butterfield. Gene enjoyed fishing, camping, and hunting, especially for deer. Survivors include his brothers and sisters, Betty Arlen Stevanus of Bloomington, Delores Dee Wellnitz of Mason City, IA, Mike April Wollschlager of Orange, MA, Mary Doug Lampher of Farmington, Leon, Sr. Martha Wollschlager of Butterfield, Audrey Swindle of Denver, Ronald, Sr. Harriet Wollschlager of Butterfield, Vicky Wollschlager of Watertown, SD, Kathy James Grunewald of Mt. Lake, Roger Wollschlager of Butterfield, Arleen Lowell Linscheid of Butterfield, and Theresa Wollschlager of St. James. Gene is also survived by 20 nieces and nephews and 14 great-nieces and nephews. He was preced in death by his parents, and brothers, Bernard and David.
