Eugene Bud Ward of Mountain Lake (formerly of Morgan) passed away Monday October 19th at the Good Samaritan Center in Mountain Lake after a short illness. Bud was preceded in death by son Steven Ward, wife Lelah Ward on August 8, 1998, parents Lewis Mick and Emma Ward, sisters Wilma Haney, Muriel Arnsdorf, Aunts and Uncles. He is survived by three sons Mike and his wife Jennifer Ward of Lakeville, Jeff Ward of Key West Florida, Brad and his wife Ruth Ward of Prior Lake, six grand children Todd and wife Shirley Ward of Lakeville, Steven Ward of Lakeville, Ben and friend Leilani Madden and great grandson Preston of Farmington, Alex Ward of Prior Lake, Mitch Ward and friend Kelly Loken of Minneapolis, Anna (Ward) and her husband Nick Wosika of Shakopee and their new (great Grandson) born in three weeks. Eugene William Ward, the son of Lewis Clayton Mick and Emma Willemina (Paape) Ward was born on October 1, 1918 at Sleepy Eye, MN. He graduated from Morgan Public Schools. On March 28, 1941, Eugene was united in marriage to Lelah Marie Gustafson at Alden, MN. Bud painted barns, homes, schools, and commercial buildings with his Dad Mick. He acquired his first school bus in the early forties. He also acquired a shoe shop in Morgan about the same time repairing shoes and belts from combines and swathers. He operated school buses for Morgan Public High School. He hauled can milk for many years to the Morgan Creamery, then switched to bulk trucks delivering it's product to the Land O Lakes plant in Mt. Lake. Later in his life he was offered a position of milk inspector with Land O Lakes in Mt. Lake. He continued to work with Land O Lakes until his retirement.
